SPEAKING THE RIGHT LANGUAGE: BRINGING A BRAND BACKTOGETHER
A global brand, fragmented across different territories; the Aleve portfolio of products required a robust design system to strengthen brand consistency, credibility and improve on-shelf authority.

The Challenge
Bayer’s Aleve brand had different names in different markets, and the use of brand assets had become fragmented and inconsistent. Health Authorities in Mexico had rejected the naming proposal for ‘Flanax PRO’, and so an alternative name and wordmark design were also required.
Our Approach
Grit & Pearl developed a Packaging Design System, to help maintain the integrity of the Tier 1 Design intent, and deliver a consistent visual language for improved brand recognition on shelf.

What we delivered
- Product naming and wordmark design for regional variants
- Design guardianship and design system creation
- Packaging master design templates for global rollout
- Icon suites and visual libraries
- Lifestyle-led design elements for e-commerce
The Result
The Packaging Design Guidelines offer Best Practice Design Principles, that can be adapted to local market needs and regulatory requirements to ensure the Aleve brand shows up consistently around the globe.
